Levers Ball and Prise Giving

Yesterday evening we had our final goodbye at the school ball. It was seriously amazing. There were a lot of photos and a lot of laughter which made the night really special. It was actually at school on the field in a marquee with a dance floor & chandlers which was nice but the school field is known for its bumpy-ness so it wasn’t exactly flat but it was close enough.

Mum and I wore hired dresses which look fabulous and dad wore his dinner jacket and suit. I was rather worried that I would be the only one in a long dress but I wasn’t and everyone else looked gorgeous- even the boys hehe

On arrival we had our photos taken by the school photographer with our parents. (Ours was lovely so we bought it) There was a set menu which I wasn’t sure about because I didn’t really like the sound of any of it but there was Melon or prawn salad for started which I had the prawns , beef wellington or chicken wrapped in bacon and apple sauce and I had the chicken and lemon torte for dessert.

We were sat in tables of 10 people (yet ours was only 9) which was great fun because the wine went to quick. (Though a lot was spilt over people, the table and the floor) There was a characteratures who drew some super pictures of us and they all looked amazing because she did them so quickly.

Obviously we danced but during dinner there was 2 wonderful male singers and then when we started danced they sang some great songs and they sounded so good. After 10.30 the DJ started (who was rather cute) and he played decent music some classics, some cheeses and recent, something for everyone and it was great fun seeing some of our teachers dancing and being like “normal” people not just “teachers”.

It finished a 1am but we didn’t leave until 1:30 because there was lots of hugs and kisses at the end which was nice because I know deep down despite the fact that I won’t like it that I probably won’t see everyone all together again.

But on the lighter note Senior Prise Giving was yesterday which at first I was really apprehensive about but in the end it was really good evening. This year they did things rather differently; there were minor and full prefects and 2 Vice Heads instead of 1 vice and 1 head. I’m personally really happy with the 3 people they chose this year and I give them all the best for the next year.

But I did receive the DT prise and Service prise which I’m quite proud of, the prise is a £10 book token and I still have 1 from last year which I still haven’t spent (we can’t remember where the other one went because I don’t remember buying a book) so I’m planning on buying a few driving text books or a design book for college next year- both vitally useful in my eyes hehe

Rainforest Cafe adventure

As you may know I’ve been on holiday for the last 4 weeks and basally I’m getting rather board, I’ve changed my room around, I’ve repaired my socks, been out with friends a few times and browsed blogs and procrastinated way too much.

So my very lovely Godmother took me to London for the day. I didn’t know where I was going however mum and dad did. We got to London about 1.30 and had a wander around Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, The Trocadero, we went into Hamleys and played with a lot of bears and other toys (What I wouldn’t do to be a child again and not have to leave school!)

But after all that guessing of where we were going to eat, we finally got to The Rainforest Cafe. On the top floor is a shop full of cuddly toys and other jungle and rainforest animal things but walking down the stairs was this totally amazing atmosphere of a restaurant. We had to wait for 20 minutes (which turned into 40, though we could see 2 tables of 2 seats with nobody sitting at them but we didn’t say anything) But once we sat down and I ordered a bowl of pasta (stupidly small) and for dessert I had panna cotta which was lovely!

Around the restaurant were all these movable animals of the rainforest and we were sat right next to the elephant and about 5 meters away from the gorilla, and every 30minutes there was a thunder storm and rain (just the sounds thankfully) but with strobe lighting but luckily we were away from the lights.
